Can there really be a whole blog post about 'Pure Canter riding tights in detail' you're asking? After all, we put them on, go on about our day and probably don't think too much about the thought process and work that goes on behind the scenes to make them comfortable and functional.

But - as you thought - it doesn't stop there.

Have you heard about the saying 'you didn't think you needed it until you tried it?' (or something along those lines anyways). It is very similar to riding tights - we are so used to pulling them up all the time that we have become content in doing so or we just don't buy them. If you find a pair that doesn't constantly fall down, you all of a sudden have this moment of realisation that you noticed something for the absence of it, rather than an additional feature. All off a sudden riding tights become your new best friend.

For example, the gym industry has blown up massively over the past few years and there isn't a single female (correct me if I'm wrong) that goes to the gym and doesn't at least own one pair of gym tights. Guess what?! - the most comfortable pairs are the ones you don't know you're wearing. So how come the gym industry can do this but when it comes to performance sport - let's say horse riding - we still wear either restrictive jodhpurs that cut into your tummy or tights that fall down your waistline, have annoying seams and so on? It does not make sense. Quite frankly - it annoys the heck out of me. Let's dive in and pull apart why we have designed our tights the way we have and why this will be an ongoing process for us to keep delivering to the highest standard possible.

chocolate riding tights in saddle, all round view showing off mobile phone in pocket
Do you really need double phone pockets? This is the 'you don't know you need it until you have it' part. YES, YES, YES!  You need 2 pockets! You most likely do not have 2 phones but two pockets are oh-so handy. One for your phone and the other for literally EVERYTHING else. The countless items I have stashed in my other pocket (dreamy look on my face). From hoof picks to brushes and horsy treats to scissors, camera lenses, passion fruits (I think I fit about 4 in my pocket) to fence insulators, nails and water bottles (600ml) the list is endless. And once you try it you'll never go back to one pocket - EVER.

Why do we have a thick belt loop? - No, it is not just because our logo looks pretty good on it - although we have to admit it does look cute. The thicker belt loop assists in keeping your belt in place. Simple as that. Have you every owned a pair of pants (not just riding tights, I even had this problem with jeans before) where you are wearing a belt but right at the back, the belt loop is not supportive enough and your belt pretty much runs over your skin? It does not compliment your look, feels horrible and uncomfortable and just plain and simple sucks.

So what about this mystical performance material? We all know not all tights are created equal and material plays a big if not the biggest part of it. It needs to be durable, supportive but flexible, easy to look after, comfortable and the list goes on. We have opted for slightly thicker material (no, thicker does not equal hotter!!) which means you will be comfortable, supported and it will keep up with you every stride of the way (pun intended). No more see-through tights, jodhs that cut your circulation off around your waist or almost stop you from bending over.

Why do you keep changing the look of your pockets? - Because of customer feedback. Yes, we love hearing what you have to say and will take every feedback into consideration when designing our next pair of tights. We are never done improving. Our newest launch will have a pocket shape that compliments the natural angle of your leg. This will result in a more aesthetical look. They'll make your legs look amazing while still allowing you to ride your horse in style.

What about the Faux Pockets, you're asking? - They are just for looks haha As much as we love our minimal and sporty tights we wanted to create a classic look that mimics jodhpurs with the same flexible feel as tights - no other function besides that.

Hope you enjoyed your read - we are always on the hunt for improvements and love to hear your feedback. It's the only way to get better.
Ride well, Carina ❤️
